Satyajit Nath received five years of tabla training during his school years from Pt. Sukumar Barthakur in Guwahati, Assam. In his college years and subsequent professional life, Satyajit continued to play tabla, accompanying modern songs, ghazals, and light classical music. In the last two years, he has also been training to accompany classical vocalists in Vilambit Khayal starting with his son Aditya Nath, who is a student of Dr. Sharad Gadre. Satyajit is a computer scientist by training and has worked in the software industry for several years. He currently works in Microsoft focusing on product development for the Windows Mobile platform.
