Geeta Keni has a passion for Indian folk dance, and has been performing and choreographing a wide variety of folk dances from an early age. After coming to Seattle, she has been working with local Indian kids to get them interested in Indian folk dance. She has choreographed dances such as the Bamboo dance of Mizoram, Dandia, and folk dances from the states of Maharashtra and Goa. Her group has performed at area events such as the Seattle Maharashtra Mandal Ganapati festival, IAWW Diwali functions and more recently, at the BMM convention in Seattle. Geeta has learned Bharatnatyam, a classical Indian dance. She enjoys music, yoga and spending time with her family.
