Ashish Shanbhag

  

Ashish Shanbhag has been learning and playing tabla since he was 5 years old. He has been playing in several Seattle bands including Shruti and Allgorhythms since 2003. In addition to tabla, he plays a lot of other percussion instruments - both acoustic and electronic. He loves playing Bollywood music hits, but Indian classical and semi-classical music is his personal favorite. When he’s not at his job as an Oracle DBA, or his wife is not pulling him to go for a hike, you can find him at the ping-pong table or beating up bad guys at his favorite video games.

In Utsav 2007, Ashish Shanbhag will accompany Satyajit Limaye on the tabla. He will also perform as part of the groups Vadya Vrinda and East India Company.
